Sennen Cove to Lands End

A walk along the coastal path from Sennen Cove to Lands End on a stormy day. Rough Sea.

Lands End is a spectacular location at the very South West of Cornwall it meets the full force of the Atlantic and on a wild and stormy day the violence of the sea makes a fascinating spectacle.

As you pass Gamper Bay you will see the wreck of the RMS Mulheim which came to grief in 2003. You can see a video and more details on the background of this wreck here.

The path rounds the oddly named Dr Syntax’s Head along a fairly easy walk to the remains of Maen Castle, now owned by the National Trust.

Passing Irish Lady, the path rounds the corner and into Sennen Cove. On the way, you pass the old lookout station, now owned by the National Trust.

There is a small breakwater at Sennen Cove and the Sennen Cove lifeboat station. The lifeboat Station is open most days and has a viewing platform to allow you to see the boat.

Sennen Cove Beach is a popular beach with surfers and dolphins can occasionally be seen playing in the surf.
