A maritime history of Cornwall that goes back to traders who arrived and traded many centuries ago to the first reports of Nelsons Victory at Trafalgar to the modern operations of Cornwall’s lifeboats and Coastguard and fishing protection vessels.

The legacy of Cornwall’s mining has been recognised by UNESCO who have awarded World Heritage Site status to some of Cornwall industrial landscapes.  The image above is taken from the Great Flat Lode Cycle Trail.

 Geevor Tin Mine is open to visitors and is the largest preserved mining site in the UK.

You can explore some of these Cornwall History landscapes by bike using some of the bike trails built around these areas or walk the coastal path in places like Chapel Porth ( Chapel Porth Image Gallery} and marvel not only at the beautiful and stunning backdrop but at the skill and courage of those miners who descended hundreds of feet then out under the Ocean.

There is a Cornwall Heritage Trail that is centred around St Austell Bay on the South Coast. E have a list of Cornwall Museums.
