King Edward Mine Open Day

King Edward Mine is the oldest complete mine site left in Cornwall and is situated in the World Heritage Area. This video was taken at the King Edward Mine open day in 2014. All the buildings are Grade II* Listed and are of national importance. The mine site is passed if you take the Great Flat Lode Cycle Trail (Image Gallery) which takes you through the heart of the industrial and mining landscape of this area.

King Edward Mine was formerly part of the South Condurrow Mine which was abandoned in the 1890s.  It was re-opened and developed between 1897 and 1906 by the famous Camborne School of Mines (CSM) as an operational/training mine.   CSM used the site until 2005.
