Penlee Lifeboat Exercise

Exercises like this are an essential part of the crew training for all lifeboat stations. During local lifeboat Days, you will see the lifeboat performing demonstrations of rescues usually with one of the SAR helicopters.

The Penlee Lifeboat is stationed in Newlyn Cornwall’s largest fishing port. It moved here after the loss of the Solomon Browne from the old slipway launch station which is now kept as a memorial to the loss of the boat and crew.  The new Station allows the boat to anchor and be afloat at all stages of the tide.
