This video of the St. Agnes Steam Rally was taken around 2004 at the rally which at that time was held nr St Agnes in August every year.

It was the largest Steam Engine Rally in the West – over 200 steam engines expected. All types of Vintage Vehicles, Old Tyme Funfair, Fairground Organs, Working Demonstrations, Trade Stands, Stationary Engines and Model Exhibition, Rural Crafts and much more.

The Rally is now held at the Stithians Showground and is now known as the “Cornish Steam and Country Fair” having moved to this new site after the 2007 Rally. In 2015 it will celebrate its 60 years of the show.

For anyone interested in technology when British engineering was renowned around the world, this is the place to be. There are demonstrations of the use of Steam Traction engines to power threshing machines, wood mills, early combines crushing stones and more. Take a ride around the showground in a trailer pulled by a traction engine.

An old fashioned fairground that operates as it did 100 years ago.

For more information visit the  Cornish Steam and Country Fair website for dates, camping info etc.
