Porthleven Beach

3 miles of sand and shingle steeply shelving which beach almost disappears on the high tide. The beach which stretches east from the granite pier in front of thePorthleven Institute and clock tower to Loe Bar and Gunwalloe.

Three miles of sand and steeply shelving shingle running east from the historic Porthleven harbour.

When the tide is out, you can walk along to Loe Bar and the Penrose Estate from the granite pier of the harbour, accessed from the village. Before doing this please check and take note of the tides.

Bathing is not advised as there are strong undercurrents here. Surfing is only recommended for experienced surfers who surf the Reef break.
