Porthminster Beach
A large sheltered family beach with all facilities, located just below St Ives railway station. A sheltered north-facing crescent of golden sands with views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy lighthouse.
Safe bathing. Blue Flag and Seaside Awards 2006. The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.
Porthminster Beach has a sand chair for hire, contact the Lifeguard Office on the beach, or call 01736 793940 or 798090 to book in advance, a charge of £10 may be required.

- Seasonal dog ban from Easter to October
- Surf rescue equipment
- Parking – car park overlooking the beach, but gets very busy.
Why not try parking at St Erth or Lelant Saltings and enjoy the scenic branch line that runs right into St Ives and a short stroll down to the beach.
