Part 2 of the videos Renovation Porthmeor Studios St Ives: explains the historical and current importance to the artist community in St Ives of the Portmeor Studios. The video explains the long standing connection between the artists and the fisherman who share the building and the repairs that are required due to the damage caused by the marine environment in which it sits overlooking Porthmeor beach.
One of the challenges in restoring such a building where material has to be replaced is to do so and retain as much as possible the original feel and nature of the building that was an integral part of the artistic community that used it.
