This video (Hammered Steel Band Cape Cornwall) was taken when the band was playing outside Lloyds bank on Mazey Day 2005 in Penzance.
The band was immensely popular and played at the Royal Cornwall Show and other events throughout Cornwall. It is always a great experience to enjoy a performance by this unique Cornish band playing the steel drums or pans of the Caribbean. The crowds that gathered when they appeared could never stay still always getting caught up in the rhythm of the music and the kids playing.
Penzance High Street
The band was started as a community project by the head of Music at Cape Cornwall School. It has performed and had great success in the Notting Hill Carnival.
