Callington Heritage Centre
Callington Heritage Centre
Callington Heritage Centre is dedicated to the historical heritage of the town and the surrounding areas all situated in South East Cornwall. Whether you are a family historian or are interested in house history or local history we can help you.
The Centre is situated in the former chapel building on Liskeard Road, Callington. It opened on 2nd June 1994 and was modernised and re-launched on 22nd July 2006. Unfortunately it was the subject of a devastating fire in March 2007 and did not open for that season. Previewing the exhibition Due to the fire brigade most of the archive was saved albeit with smoke and water damage.
The interests span all aspects of the social and economic history of Callington and the surrounding parishes. As well as being a place of interest to visit, the Centre aims to provide a resource for those interested in our local history, whether professional or enthusiast. It also welcomes visits from local schools, youth groups, and any others.
