Video clip of a walk between Porthleven and Loe bar on a very Stormy January. A day for storm watching. The building with the Tower is not a church it is the Bickford-Smith Institute. The tower around is 70 feet high and houses the local town council offices. There is a famous image of a wave breaking over the clock tower that has been used by national TV when illustrating stormy weather.
The Dambusters’ Commanding Officer, Guy Gibson was born in Porthleven with a road named in his memory.
