Helford River Kayaking
This video, Helord River Kayaking, is made by Koru Kayaking who run Kayaking expeditions on the Helford river as well as the north Cornwall coast at St Agnes.. At the head of the Estuary lies Gweek with its thriving boatyard and the National Seal Sanctuary.
The expedition starts from the Budock Vean Hotel private beach to the Helford Passage and the banks of ancient oak forest. Frenchman’s Creek, the inspiration for Daphne du Marier’s novel ‘Frenchman’s Creek’. The creek itself has shipwrecks and secluded beaches. During the season in good weather you are able to swim in the creek.

The Helford River, the woods and fields run down to the sea is rightly famous for its scenic beauty. The Helford Voluntary Marine Conservation Area was established in 1987 to help protect the rich and varied marine life of this Helford river estuary.© Photograph of Helford River with kind permission of Tim Green Flckr
