Poldhu Cove is the location from which the first Transatlantic message was sent using wireless telegraphy. The was sent as a single repeated letter ‘S’ using equipment set up on the clifftop at Poldhu Cove. The signal was received by Marconi in St John’s Newfoundland in 1901.
