Cornwall History and Industrial Heritage

The legacy of Cornwall's mining has been recognised by UNESCO who have awarded World Heritage Site status to some of Cornwall industrial landscapes.

Geevor Tin Mine is open to visitors and is the largest preserved mining site in the UK.

You can explore some of these landscapes by bike using some of the bike trails built around these areas or walk the coastal path in places like Chapel Porth and marvel not only at the beautiful and stunning backdrop but at the skill and courage of those miners who descended hundreds of feet then out under the Ocean.
