South West Cornwall Fishing Guide  – Pendennis and Falmouth Cornwall

Our South West Cornwall Fishing Guide should be a good starting point for further research into planning your fishing trips in the south west.

Rock Fishing

Good rock marks abound from Pendennis Point to Penhale. Those mentioned all require care. Pendennis Point is a good mark for wrasse and pollock, as is St Anthony’s Head and on autumnal nights is an excellent mark for black bream. Porthallow offers good marks for coalfish and conger. A superb mark for nightfishing is the Lizard where wrasse, mackerel and conger are good sport, similar to Trewavas Head.

Beach Fishing

The Prince of Wales Pier, Falmouth fishes well at night for pollock, mackerel and flounder. Trefusis Point, Flushing for wrasse, pollock and the occasional ray. Coverack provides pollock, garfish and mackerel, try for conger and bull huss at the breakwater at night.

Boat Fishing Helford

Many chartered boats are available from Falmouth, particularly on Prince of Wales Pier and through the local tackle shops. Most harbours in this area have many boats which sail from them. Everything for a two hour Mackerel trip to an all day deep water wreck fishing trip.
