St Ives RNLI inshore lifeboat crew rescue three surfers

The volunteer crew of the St Ives RNLI inshore lifeboat launched at 11:10am this morning (Wednesday 18 April) to rescue two surfers and a third person who had got into serious difficulty in rough conditions off Porthminster Point

The teenage surfers were spotted by a passer by on the shore who dialled 999 to report that there were people in difficulty in the sea off Porthminster.

The St Ives RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched at 11:10 with Station Mechanic/2nd Coxswain Robert Cocking at the helm, and crewed by Barney Stevens and Paul LeBas...

Visitors aboard the Seahorse enjoying a cruise to see the seals on Saturday afternoon, had some extra excitement when the skipper was forced to call the St Ives RNLI lifeboats when he found the steering had failed.

Auction in aid of the St Ives RNLI lifeboat station raises over £2,800

The fund raising team at The St Ives Lifeboat Station Ladies Guild held an auction at The Lifeboat Inn on Saturday 15th October, to raise money to help fund the purchase of new lifejackets for the St Ives Lifeboat crews - a part of a project to replace all RNLI lifejackets in coming months.

Organised by Suzanne Tanner from the Guild, a huge number of prizes were donated by businesses in and around St Ives, which were then raffled and auctioned by St Ives estate agent Paul LeBas...

St Ives RNLI lifeboats launched after report of vehicle and casualty in sea

Both the St Ives RNLI all-weather lifeboat and the D class inshore lifeboat were launched today (Monday 27 December) at 11am following a report from the police of a vehicle and a casualty in the water between Dead Man’s Cove and Derrick Cove north of St Ives Bay.
