Portloe on the Roseland peninsula Cornwall

Portloe lies on the Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwal.

The steep valley that runs down to the sea in which Portloe sits has ensured a lack of development and many buildings are as thy were built.

Portloes naturally sheltered position saw village grow in the seventeenth and eightheenth centuries as a busy pilchard fishing port.

At one time there were there were more than fifty boats fishing here - now only a few boats work from the cove mainly for crab and lobster.
