The Minack Theatre - Porthcurno

The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno Cornwall

The VisitCornwall TV video reporter who filmed this had the bonus of seeing basking sharks in the sea below the Theatre and managed to film them from the theatre terraces.

The Minack Theatre, is an open air theatre with the stunning stage backdrop of Porthcurno Bay and the Logan Rock headland.Plays staged during the summer months range from the traditional Shakespeare to the more contemporary and musical.

The Minack Theatre was originally built by the late Rowena Cade.

The Minack Theatre was named as best day out by Daily Mail readers. The winning visitor verdict read: "My perfect day out would be driving to Sennen Cove in Cornwall, sitting by the beach watching the waves while having lunch and then heading to the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno to enjoy one of their fantastic open air shows."

Today the site hosts the  Rowena Cade exhibition centre, as well as a coffee shop.  The theatre is open to visitors during the day although in the winter months the opening is restricted.
