Dogs in Cornwall

Cornwall's beaches are popular with dogs and many are dog friendly and are open to dogs all year round.   However some beaches operate a seasonal dog ban from Easter day to 1st October. To find out which of Cornwall's beaches permit and do not permit dogs and when -  download Cornwall Council's Dog Friendly beach Guide, or download a copy of their dogs on holiday useful information and contacts when bringing your pet on holiday with you.

Please remember that in hot weather dogs are vulnerable and cars in particular are often a dangerous environment for a  dog  even if the car was in the shade when you left it it may not remain sheltered from the sun for long.

Dogs generally love beaches and can get very excited by the waves and the ability to run free.  However not everyone has experience with dogs and some can get quite alarmed when a perfectly friendly labrador comes bouncing towards them thinking they have found another playmate!
